About Me
Hi there! I'm Makenna Harris, a young illustrator from a quiet little part of New Hampshire. I hold a special place in my heart for telling stories. I always have. Whether they be big or small, fantastical or familiar, an illustration provides a perfect visual narration for the ideas floating around in your head and anchors them into the real world. My main passion is character design and visual storytelling, being able to express a scene or emotion or make someone connect to a character through a picture.
Most of my artwork is usually digital medium, ink and paint, or a fun combination of the two! My digital work is done with a tablet pen monitor and Clip Studio Paint or Photoshop (as well as some other similar programs on occasion). I enjoy experimenting with different techniques and styles, as well as subjects. Lots of my inspiration draws from animals (especially birds) and nature, as they have been largely present in my life growing up. I also draw from fantasy and science fiction themes, and find it interesting to combine different concepts and genres together.
When I’m not working on illustration, you can probably find me caring for my many animals, playing tabletop games with a small group of close friends, desperately trying to save a dying houseplant, or dabbling with music. And if all else fails, I’m probably in the chicken coop.
